Biomass Boiler System

Enerpower have installed a 550Kw Gilles Biomass Boiler System at Standish Sawmills in Co. Offaly.  Standish Sawmills were looking for a boiler that gave them the ability to power dry kilns at their Co. Offaly based factory.

Standish Sawmills is one of Ireland’s leading producers of timber products. Owners Tom and John Standish are the fourth generation of Standish family operating a sawmill business at Leap Castle, Co. Offaly which is located between Birr & Roscrea. The original sawmill here was steam powered, but today Standish Sawmills have invested in the leading edge technology.

Standish Sawmills provide design and manufacturing service offering an extensive range of quality timber products for the home and export markets. According to the US Department of Agriculture, depending upon equipment used, the efficiency level of any wood operation may require one and one-half to four times the energy needed to evaporate water. Standish Sawmills approached Enerpower to assist with their specific requirements and needs.

Enerpower is the industry leader in energy efficiency and renewable technologies, delivering high quality products and services with an unparalleled sectors knowledge guaranteeing your business energy savings. Founded in 2005, Enerpower is now one of Ireland’s leading renewable energy companies and we are committed to using biomass fuel, solar panel technology and wind energy to ensure businesses save money on heating and energy and also reduce the impact on the environment daily.

Enerpower looked towards biomass renewable energy as a method to meet the needs of the sawmills and determined that by installing a 550Kw Gilles Biomass Boiler, this biomass power would meet the needs satisfactorily. The underfeed firing boiler is suitable for fuel in the form of wood chips with a residual moisture of 8-45% and pellets. This boiler has high efficiency of up to 95.4%.  A biomass boiler system was the perfect it for the requirements of the sawmills.

By looking towards a biomass solution for your energy requirements, you can reduce your costs by up to 50% per annum as well as ensuring increased energy efficiency and promoting a positive green image for your company.

If you would like to generate renewable energy for your business, and be financially rewarded for doing so, contact Enerpower on 051 364 054.  Enerpower can carry out a detailed survey at your property and offer you a bespoke solution that suits your business and circumstances.
