In Agri-Business, Biomass, Grants, News, PPA, SSRH

Speaking at the Energy in Agriculture event in Gurteen College on Tuesday, Denis Naughten T.D Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment confirmed his intention that the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat applications will be opened by the end of the year.

The Support Scheme for Renewable Heat, launched by the Irish Government in December 2017 puts in place a scheme which will financially support your business with the replacement of fossil fuel heating systems to a renewable energy solution such as biomass boilers for large heat demand non domestic customers.

Enerpower is a leading supplier of Gilles Biomass Boilers in Ireland and offer reliable quality products and services using unparalleled energy sector knowledge and industry experience. Having worked closely on many projects using Biomass Technology in various sectors, Enerpower are hopeful that the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat will reduce the energy cost of business and have a huge impact on margins and competitiveness in business.  Matt Wallace of Wexford Tomatoes, who has been working with Enerpower for over seven years says ” the costs benefits of switching to a biomass boiler have been considerable over the last seven years” Click here to read more about the benefits of switching to biomass technology for your business.

The Minister hopes that the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat will create new commercial opportunities in Ireland for bio energy and renewable heat industries that will be complemented by the new semi state body Bord Na Mona Bio Energy whereby the sector can grow. During his speech at the Energy in Agriculture event the Minister also confirmed that his department is examining the options to potentially expand the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat to include support for Bio-methane Grid System.

Designed to contribute to Ireland meeting 2020 renewable energy targets, the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat will provide businesses with support mechanisms. You can read more on the detail of the Support Scheme here.
