Enerpower are seeking to hire a Site Engineer /Manager for Solar PV projects for a short term contract in Ireland. The role will focus specifically on development and construction of solar projects in Ireland, and generally support our other projects across Wind & Biomass as well as purchasing and tendering.
This position will be based in Ireland and Travel is a requirement of the role.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Job Functions
- Project Development phase
- Analyze project-specific risks and opportunities; develop a risk management plan coordinating development, project execution strategy, contracting/commercial strategy and project insurance options
- Provide engineering support for PV solar specific engineering issues and value engineering opportunities based on the project-specific risk profile
- Prepare and draft technical inputs and Employer Requirements for project tender documents and contracts
- Support the Senior Contracts Manager in analyzing EPC/Supplier tender submittals
- Support in negotiation of key contracts and in drafting proposed changes to contract language
- Manage interfaces between project owner, contractor and lender/lender’s advisors in submittal of financial close documents and deliverables
- Standard PSDP activities as required
- Budget development
- Design review & optomisation
- Planning Activities, submittals and DNO interfaces
- Project Construction phase
- Acting as Owner’s Representative, operate as the project’s single point of contact for all technical and commercial communications
- Track project key performance indicators (schedule, cost, quality, scope) and provide inputs/corrective action to ensure progress is according to plan
- On Site Coordination & Management on a daily basis
- Evaluate bi-weekly contractor progress reports with an eye toward managing project risks and exploiting project opportunities
- Prepare bi- weekly reports for the project Owner and lenders based on contractor reports and first hand observation of the project progress
- Present project progress, key findings and recommendations to the project Owner and/or lenders as required
- Negotiate variation orders as required, managing scope, technical issues and commercial commitments
- Offer technical and commercial solutions to local contractors performing project construction works based on past experience and industry best practices
- Standard PSCS requirements
- Position will require site based hours during project construction as required under PSCS
Requirements
- Minimum Engineering Degree or equivalent Site experience
- Valid Project Management certification
- Awareness of required Health and Safety standards as per Irish Construction Regulations
- Minimum of 3 years site Management/Engineering Experience on technically detailed projects
- Electrical knowledge of DC and AC Systems desirable
- Written and spoken fluency in English; very strong writing skills required
- Prior experience working as PSCS
- Demonstrated excellence in effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the necessary skills to interface with local representatives, clients, vendors, contractors and subcontractors and other project stakeholders
- Experience of having worked with clients from concept/design stage through to commercial operations desirable
- Demonstrated project financial understanding (such as the development of construction budgets, interpreting and understanding financial reports, financial evaluations, etc.)
- Proven track record of managing strict schedule deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage projects
- Can do attitude
