  • Waterford based company Enerpower completed work on Ireland’s largest ever installation of Solar PV Panels at Sam Dennigan and Company’s Co. Dublin national distribution centre.
  • A 1.5MW system consisting of 4420 solar panels has been installed at the facility including over 45 km of electrical cabling.
  • The facility will now reduce its carbon output by 428 tonnes annually. In addition, the renewable electricity produced is enough to power 314 homes.

Ireland’s largest rooptop Solar PV array of 1.5mw has been installed by Waterford based company Enerpower at Sam Denningan and Company’s  national distribution centre in Oldtown, North Co. Dublin.

The process which saw the installation of 4420 solar pv panels and 45km of cabling is now live and providing power to the site in Oldtown.  This site will now generate  1320MWhr/year of renewable energy and reduce carbon output at the facility by 428 tonnes annually.

The overall aim of the project is to reduce energy consumption, carbon footprint and the environmental impact in line with Ireland’s renewable energy goals, as well as provide a financial benefit to the company. The project saw Enerpower fully engineer, procure and construct the rooftop Solar PV  project now on site.

The Team at Sam Dennigan said: “We would like to pay tribute to Enerpower who from the outset had a very clear understanding of our requirements and who seamlessly carried out the installation without impact on the company’s daily commitments. We would also like to highly compliment Exemplar Energy Solutions Ltd. who completed the design review and procurement on our behalf.”

Luke Deasy, Senior Contracts Manager for Enerpower said: “Enerpower were delighted to work on this project. The site is now up and running and generating clean renewable electricity. This project was completed on time and under budget and during the installation all construction activities had minimal impact on the client’s work”

Managing Director of Enerpower, Owen Power said: “It was fantastic to experience the commitment of Sam Dennigan and Co. in making the change to renewable energy.   This will have a huge impact on reducing the carbon footprint of the business and also provide an overall financial benefit to the company.  Solar energy has become a very economical source of electricity and this development at Sam Dennigan and Company UC can be a great inspiration to those businesses who wish to significantly reduce their environmental impact.”
