Enerpower clients LIDL nominated for sustainability team of the year

Enerpower clients Lidl have been nominated for sustainability team of the year at the 2022 Green Awards.

“A Better Tomorrow” is Lidl’s strategy for sustainability. As a member of the Bord Bia Origin Green Programme, Lidl have committed to a five-year sustainable development plan with numerous targets that Lidl reports on each year. This plan called “A Better Tomorrow” highlights sustainability is an ongoing journey for Lidl and show how the plan to lessen their impact on the environment. Their Corporate Social Responsibly goals  established by the company to provide a safe and nurturing environment and positively contribute to the communities in which they operate their 209 stores.

Lidl aim to make their operations carbon neutral by 2025 whilst also reducing their emissions by 46% by 2030. Enerpower are delighted to be on this journey with LIDL through the installation of solar pv at their stores and also retrofits. See case study here for more information on these installations.

Lidl have also stated they are committed to producing recyclable, reusable, or refillable packaging on 100% of their own brand products by 2025. Lidl also provide electric vehicle charging points across 32 of their stores and office buildings.

It is evident that Lidl are committed to their sustainability programme and strategy as they are actively working towards achieving their goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030 whether this be through their installations of renewable energy technologies throughout each store or their own brand packaging being 100% recyclable, reusable or refillable by 2025.

Enerpower are delighted to have helped Lidl with achieving their sustainability targets through the installations of solar pv panels across a number of their stores. This nomination is a great recognition for the hard work and commitment Lidl are doing to be a more sustainable company.
