Enerpower transforms Tesco’s environmental footprint with biomass boiler system installation.

In Biomass, General, News

Enerpower, a leader in renewable energy solutions for businesses, has successfully installed a state-of-the-art biomass boiler system at Tesco’s facility in Galway. This project marks a significant step in the journey towards a greener and more sustainable future for Tesco, one of the world’s largest retailers.

The newly installed biomass boiler system, designed and engineered by Enerpower’s team of experts, harnesses the power of renewable biomass resources to produce clean and efficient energy for Tesco’s operations. By making this strategic move, Tesco demonstrates its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and playing a crucial role in combating climate change.

The 500kW biomass boiler system operates using locally sourced wood pellets, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels. The innovative technology not only lowers greenhouse gas emissions but also contributes to decreasing Tesco’s overall energy costs, enhancing its long-term sustainability and economic competitiveness.

“We are delighted to work with Tesco on this landmark project” said Owen Power, CEO of Enerpower. “By choosing a biomass boiler system, Tesco is taking a proactive step towards reducing its environmental impact and leading the way in sustainable retail practices.”

The biomass boiler ranks at a boiler class 5 with 93.6% efficiency. This boiler system perfectly aligns with Tesco’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality across its operations. By replacing fossil fuel-based heating systems with clean energy solutions, Tesco is making steps towards reaching its sustainability goals.

The installation of the biomass boiler system is part of Tesco’s larger sustainability roadmap, which outlines various initiatives to minimise waste, conserve resources and promote sustainability across its operations and supply chain.
