Banagher Concrete have recently installed a 375kw commercial solar array following an energy audit conducted by Enerpower. Banagher Concrete located in Co. Offaly wanted to invest in a commercial solar system at their facility. The energy audit conducted found a two-roof install would best suit Banagher Concrete operations in helping them reduce their environmental impact and reduce operational costs.
Banagher Concrete has been manufacturing precast concrete since 1949 and are constantly striving to better their operations without compromising their high-quality products placing them at the forefront of construction and civil engineering. Banagher Concrete are the leading precast manufacturers in Ireland and the UK.
Banagher Concrete believes their economic, legal and philanthropy responsibilities are a true reflection of their integrity. They respect their environment as they actively strive towards reducing their impact on the environment by promoting good environmental practices. The installation is another testament to their commitment to the environment.
Banagher Concretes environmental policy ‘Tread Softly’ allows the company to make changes which will ensure positive lasting legacies for future generations.
This commercial solar array project consisted of 1,043 solar panels. These 375w Longi Solar Panels allow for high efficiency and generate electricity in low light situations. 3 Huawei Sun 2000 Inverters were used during this project, such inverters convert DC power to AC which allows for the production of electricity. A Van Der Valk Rooftop Mounting system was used to hold and set panels in place. This mounting system has been tested through various weather conditions. Solar energy installation are extremely beneficial to companies as they help reduce overall energy costs whilst also avoiding future energy price increases and carbon taxes.
A 14kW heat pump was also installed at Banagher Concrete facility. Heat pumps work efficiently because they simply transfer heat rather than burn fuel to create it. As heat pumps move heat rather than generate it, they can provide up to four times the amount of energy they consume. Banagher Concrete now provide their own form of electricity as well as heat. Both renewable energy systems compliment each other when combined.
Enerpower are delighted to have worked on this project and are thrilled to have helped Banagher Concrete fulfil their sustainability goals the company was assigned an experienced project manager and engineer who fully managed this project. A witness test was successfully completed by the ESB This project complies with all regulations and standards.
