Enerpower have recently completed the installation of a 300kWp commercial solar panel array at Beauparc’s Irish Packaging Recycling (IPR) facility at Ballymount in Co. Dublin. Environmental ethics are at the heart of everything that Beauparc do and they approached Enerpower to undertake an audit of their energy usage and to see how solar pv could help them further reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint. This project saw Enerpower fully engineer, procure and construct the bespoke solar panel solution
Enerpower installed a 300kWp Solar Panel Array which will contribute to a reduction in energy used from the national grid at the facility. In addition the system will reduce the facilities carbon footprint in line with the countries renewable energy targets. This project will also see the company benefit financially.
A Van Der Valk mounting system was used during this installation of 811 no. 370Wp Trina Solar Panels. These panels have excellent IAM and low light performance with cell process and module material optimisation.
The Sun2000 Huawei Inverters used during this installation are 3 phase grid-tied PV string inverters that converts the DC power generated by the strings into AC power and feeds in to the site LV Network.
During the installation, there was access ladders installed and full roof fall arrest system which will ensure safe access for both the installation as well as future maintenance activities. Enerpower are delighted to confirm that during the installation of this commercial solar pane array, there was zero impact to the clients on site activities and no down time was recorded on the site. A full safe site was operated under all the regulatory health and safety guidelines and inspected by the HSA with zero findings.
This project will have export limitation and G10 protection at MV to improve the overall system performance and ensure all energy produced is consumed on site in line with ESB requirements.
The system so far has generated over 16MWh of energy for the Panda facility. Along with this, the Panda Recycling facility has reduced their C02 by 2700 tonnes, this is the equivalent of planting 125 trees.
Enerpower were delighted to have worked on this project. This project was completed safely, on time and under budget. ESB Witness testing has confirmed that the installation complies with the Zero Export and Grid Protection Requirements and the construction activities had minimal impact on the clients works.
