Enerpower is delighted to have installed a 500kWp Ground Mounted Solar Array for AW Ennis. The site at Stramatt, Virginia, Co. Cavan now has a ground-mounted Solar PV array installed on their grounds. A.W Ennis invested in renewable energy to meet the companies sustainability goals.
AW Ennis provides top-quality animal feed throughout Ireland, they are committed to producing the highest standard of produce. AW Ennis approached Enerpower as they wanted to invest in a renewable energy source at their site to take the step towards a net-zero carbon output to help the environment and run a sustainable feed production facility.
In addition, the ground mounted solar array will reduce the facility’s overall carbon footprint in line with the country’s renewable energy targets. This project will also see A.W. Ennis benefit financially, as the solar array will offset the net energy from the grid.
A Zimmermann ground-mounted system was used for the installation along with 500kWp of Longi solar PV panels. These Longi panels have excellent IAM, high efficiency, and low light performance with cell process and module material optimization. Fimer solar Inverters were used during this installation, these 3 phase grid inverters allow DC power that is generated by the strings to convert into AC power, which then feeds through the site LV Network. A full safe site was operated under all regulatory health and safety guidelines and inspected by the HSA with 0 findings.
Since the installation in January, A.W Ennis has avoided 511,816 kg of Co2 emissions. The solar array has generated enough energy to power 2,261 computers for one whole year.
This project has export limitations and G10 protection at MV to ensure all energy produced is in line with ESB requirements. The ESB testing has confirmed that the installation complies with all current regulations.
