Enerpower are pleased to announce the completion of a 200kWp ground-mounted solar pv system at McAuley Feeds in Burtonstown Co. Meath. McAuley Feeds had a Vestas V44 600kW wind turbine erected in 2014 to help make their agribusiness more sustainable. With sustainability at the forefront of the company, they approached Enerpower to help with the installation of this 200kWp ground-mounted system which will further reduce their overall operational costs and allow them to run a more sustainable production line.
McAuley Feeds is a 3rd generation operated business who have been involved in farming contracting as well as the manufacture and supply of ruminant feeds for over 50 years. The feed production is processed with the ingredients that allow them to produce a range of ruminant feeds in cube and coarse.
Enerpower were approached to complete the installation of this ground-mounted solar pv system for McAuley feeds. This renewable energy installation will further offset McAuley carbon emissions and reduce their energy consumption allowing their operations to be extremely efficient.
An Enerpower engineer was assigned to this project where the design and the best area of installation was decided. The Enerpower project engineer oversaw the installation process and liaised with McAuley Feed on the schedule and update of works and site access. The project manager also ensured that a full handover was completed and forwarded to the client and to the SEAI for full review.
The 200kWp ground-mounted solar pv system consisted of 444 JA solar pv modules and 2 Huawei inverters. The installation of Corab PV mounting system was used to place the solar pv module at a south-facing angle. A G10 panel protection was also installed to prevent the generator from sending electricity out onto the National Grid in a dangerous manner. The ground-mounted system is grid-connected with a total capacity of 200kWp.
Enerpower also installed two 11kwp EV chargers for McAuley Feeds, allowing staff with electric vehicles to charger their vehicles on the premises.
Previously McAuley feeds had a wind turbine erected on site which Enerpower installed. Enerpower are delighted to have clients return to further offset their emissions with Enerpowers help.
