A 300kWp solar carport has been recently installed by Enerpower at Wicklow County Council offices. This installation will help Wicklow County Council meet their sustainability targets. Wicklow County Council approached Enerpower to install a renewable energy technology on-site, as they identified energy efficiency as a key objective of reducing their carbon footprint.
This innovative project was designed, constructed, and installed by an Enerpower engineer and will contribute to the reduction in energy used whilst reducing the facility’s carbon footprint. Solar carports are ideal for companies where roof space is not available or limited, solar carports will let you to generate clean energy in the most efficient way possible.
During this solar carport installation, approximately 675 JA Solar Panels were used. These solar panels allow for higher output power and ensure maximum efficiency. There were 2 Sun 200 Huawei Inverters installed alongside the solar PV panels. Inverters are important pieces to a solar energy system as they convert direct current which the solar panels create into alternating current electricity which feeds into the site LV network to provide electricity. Enerpower also installed 3 EV charging points at Wicklow’s facility. Chint supplied the steelwork for the carport along with the mounting brackets to fix the solar PV modules to the steel structure. AMP engineering supplied the low voltage G10 panel while all internal components were manufactured and supplied by Chint.
Enerpower is delighted to confirm that during the installation of this commercial solar carport there was zero impact to the client and no downtime was recorded.
It is estimated that this 300kW carport will generate 265,800 kWh annually for Wicklow County Councils facility.
As Ireland’s largest renewable energy provider, Enerpower is always striving to break records within the Irish Solar PV Industry.
Enerpower is delighted to have installed this innovative project for Wicklow County Council. If you are interested in reducing your energy consumption and would like to know more on how to achieve it, contact Enerpower on 051 364 054.
