Enerpower are pleased to announce that work has been completed on this 1MW rooftop solar array on behalf of Sysco. This PV Solar array was designed with Enerpower engineers to reduce the overall energy consumption of Pallas Foods facility.
Sysco Background
Pallas Foods have recently joined forces with Sysco Ireland and rebranded Sysco’s name. Sysco sells, markets, and distributes food to restaurants, healthcare, and educational facilities whilst also supplying equipment to the food service and hospitality industries.
Sysco Ireland has sustainability at the heart of everything they do, as they as are continuously striving to improve company practices and achieve a more sustainable and effective process. The team approached Enerpower as they wanted to reduce their impact on the environment while keeping in line with company sustainability targets. As an EPC contractor Enerpower took full control of this project ensuring that all company requirements would be met to a high standard. This also allowed Sysco to continue with its operations with little to no downtime.
Enerpower Rooftop Solar Installation
Enerpower engineers installed a 1MW rooftop solar array across two units of the business, the freezer-chiller warehouse, and the dry warehouse unit. The 1MW system is south facing and is mounted across 330,000sq ft, and the installation consisted of 2,248 JA Solar photovoltaic panels to ensure maximum efficiency. These solar photovoltaic panels convert direct sunlight into electricity with the help of inverters. Huawei inverters were used during this installation to convert the DC power generated into AC power which allows electricity to be provided to the facility.
