Enerpower have recently completed a two-unit rooftop solar PV array installed at IGSL facility in Co. Kildare. A solar PV array of 11kwp was installed onto the rooftop of unit J while an 8kWp solar PV was installed onto unit H. The decision was made to conduct two separate rooftop installations as it was more suited to IGSL facility needs.
IGSL approached Enerpower as they were looking to invest in a renewable energy source that would provide their facility with enough electricity for their day-to-day operations. IGSL are experienced in managing, executing and delivering ground investigation and they have successfully completed large scale project. IGSL have delivered high quality services in geotechnical laboratory testing, consultancy service to the construction and engineering industries. IGSL testing facility is located in Nass Co. Kildare and due to the facility’s fleet and plant investment over the last number of year this installation will significantly reduce their carbon footprint as they make the changes to go green.
In order to offset their carbon footprint IGSL approached Enerpower to engineer, procure and construct the two-unit installation.
During this two-unit rooftop solar pv array installation, 25 JA Solar panel were installed at unit H and 35 JA solar panels were installed at unit J. These solar panels are powered by high- efficiency percium cells which provide the most cost effective solution for lowering the LOCE of any PV systems. SUN2000 Huawei inverters were installed on site. These inverters are high power generation, safer and reliable. High quality solar inverters are important to the solar projects as they convert the DC power into AC power. These Huawei inverters have efficient tracking of power output therefore, if there was an issue with a specific panel you can pinpoint exactly which panel has the fault. A Van Der Valk mounting system was used to ensure all panels are secure.
Enerpower were delighted to have worked on this project. This project was completed safely, on time and under budget. ESB Witness testing has confirmed that the installation complies with the Zero Export and Grid Protection Requirements and the construction activities had minimal impact on the clients works.
